How does approaching in a jet differ from approaching in a piston propeller aircraft?
Jet uçağıyla yaklaşma, pistonlu pervaneli uçakla yaklaşmadan nasıl farklıdır?
A jet is harder to hold on the approach profile and harder to correct. It has more momentum, weaker speed stability and a swept wing that sinks fast at low speed. Its engines spool up slowly, and it lacks propeller slipstream lift and propeller drag braking.
So what does a pilot transitioning from turboprops to jets have to change in technique?
Turboproplardan jetlere geçen bir pilot tekniğinde neyi değiştirmek zorundadır?
How does low-speed control differ between a jet and a propeller aircraft?
Düşük hızda kontrol jet ve pervaneli uçak arasında nasıl farklılık gösterir?
A jet's drag curve is flat at low speed, so many speeds need almost the same thrust. A small thrust error can start a slow, hard-to-spot speed drift. A propeller aircraft's power-required curve is steeper, so the right setting is clearer and errors show quickly.
How does an autothrottle mitigate this, and what is the risk?
Autothrottle bunu nasıl azaltır ve riski nedir?
How does speed stability differ between jet and propeller aircraft?
Hız kararlılığı (speed stability) jet ve pervaneli uçaklarda nasıl farklılık gösterir?
Jets have poorer speed stability. Their approach speed (VREF, about 1.3 VS, or 1.23 VSR under current rules) usually lies in the neutral or unstable part of the drag curve. Jet thrust also barely changes with speed, while propeller thrust rises as speed falls, which helps restore speed.
Why is being on the back side of the drag curve dangerous on approach?
Yaklaşmada drag eğrisinin arka tarafında olmak neden tehlikelidir?
How do stall speeds compare between jets and piston propeller aircraft?
Jetler ile pistonlu pervaneli uçakların stall hızları nasıl karşılaştırılır?
Jets generally stall at higher speeds than piston propeller aircraft, and the range between their highest and lowest stall speeds is much wider. That spread comes from the large weight range and the big effect of flaps and slats on a swept wing.
Why does the wider stall speed range matter to the pilot?
Daha geniş stall hızı aralığı pilot için neden önemlidir?
How does wing performance differ between propeller and jet aircraft, especially when contaminated?
Kanat performansı pervaneli ve jet uçaklar arasında, özellikle kontamine olduğunda, nasıl farklılık gösterir?
A straight propeller-aircraft wing tolerates contamination better, partly because prop wash energises the airflow over it. A contaminated swept jet wing has virtually no spare margin. It flies at higher angles of attack without slipstream help, so even light frost can sharply cut lift and raise stall speed.
So what does this mean for de-icing and takeoff?
Bu de-icing ve kalkış için ne anlama gelir?
